Happydemic spreads: meet the latest ‘crop’ trained

5 laughter yoga leader participants, smiling with trainer, HeatherJoy

So often I am asked ‘who wants to do laughter leader training’  and my answer typically is ‘anyone’.

Past certified laughter leader training workshops have included a medical practitioner, teachers, complementary health therapists, people in sales… and ‘just’ people wanting to gain a greater insight into how and why laughter yoga works, presenting its multiple health benefits without so much as a joke.

The latest ‘crop’ helping to spread the ‘happydemic’ of laughter yoga attended their 2-day training this past weekend.

There were tears… of laughter. There was a lot of playfulness, cavorting and ‘silliness’.

Who were they? Two were established traditional yoga practitioners and teachers, one with her own studio. Another participant runs a trade-related business, is qualified in Reiki and keen to share her new knowledge with the Red Tent women’s circle community. A workplace trainer travelled more than 300km to attend the weekend session—in a state the size of Queensland, even my regional training isn’t enough! The fifth was a financial sector executive wanting to acquire some new skills to de-stress and maybe do some community volunteering.

Truly, just as laughter yoga is adaptable and accessible, the 2-day leader training offers personal and professional development. I’ve a midweek ‘workplace’ oriented laughter leader training session in Brisbane in late April. Check out the rest of the calendar on my training page. And if your community or organisation as 4 or more people, in Queensland, I will travel to you to suit!

Well done new laughter leaders. In our language it’s ‘VERY GOOD VERY GOOD YAY!”
